夏が終わってました、イギリス！Freezing UK.

こんにちは、C & MILLSです。
久しぶりのブログの更新。

現在イギリスのオックスフォードに滞在中です。
夏と秋をすっ飛ばして冬に足を突っ込みかけてるイギリスでの生活は、寒さが憎いですが、新しい発見と刺激に溢れた毎日です。（なので、ブログの更新が滞っているのは、決して怠けてるからではない！と思う。。）

今回は、以前イギリスに留学していた時に生活していたオックスフォードで再び足を運んだ懐かしの場所をご紹介。

Hello. It's been a long time..

Now, I'm in Oxford.
I expected it's a bit colder than Japan, but it's freezing actually...
Though it's cold and it makes me blue, everyday I get new things and inspiration. (So I'm not lazy to write blog. I'm "quite" busy to do lots of things!) 

Anyway, I'd like to show you some spots where I used to stay and often visited.


"Turl Street Kitchen"

Free Wi-Fiがあり、好きなだけ滞在していいカフェ。
ここで勉強や仕事をする人も沢山います。その風景と居心地の良さは以前と全く変わらず。

They have Free Wi-Fi and you can stay there as long as you want.
You'll see people who study and work at there. 
That scene and comfortableness are not changed.

お酒も飲めます。
You can drink anytime.

朝食も食べられます。
グラノーラが可愛いジャーに入れられて。。
そしてここのアメリカンは結構濃いめ。目が覚めます。

You can have breakfast.
I like this jar of granola with yoghurt.
I like American coffee as well, but the taste is quite strong. It helps you awake.

もちろん、デザートも。大好きな、スティッキー・トフィー・プディング。
Of course, they serve sweets. I'm mad about this sticky toffy pudding.

学生の街、Oxford。
古いカレッジが所狭しと立ち並ぶ。

The town, Oxford is for students.
You see streets full of flourishing old collages. 


続いて、イングランドで一番最初にできたコーヒーショップの
"The Grand Cafe".

このカフェが設立したのは1690年。日本は江戸時代で徳川光圀が治めていたなか、イングランドではこんなオシャレなカフェができていた。。

This is the first coffee shop in England, "The Grand Cafe".
It established in 1690. At this time, Japan was in the EDO period and 
Mitsukuni Tokugawa who was a shogun in Edo ruled over the country,
on the other hand, such a cool coffee shop was established in Oxford.

昼間はカフェとして。本物のアフタヌーンティーが味わえます。
夜になるとオシャレなバーに変身。もちろん、昼間でもお酒は飲めます。

You can have a real sophisticated afternoon tea at there.
In the evening, you can enjoy here as a bar.

大好きな、Cream Tea! スコーンにクロテッドクリームとイチゴジャムをたっぷり付けて。
紅茶はLady Grayを。

You should have a cream tea and lady gray!

最後に、オックスフォードでイケメンな雑貨を取り揃える、
"Object of Use".

iittalaや琺瑯の食器、文房具、ガーデニングに使う道具（←イギリス人には欠かせない！）などの他、日本のたわしや工具なども取り揃えられています。

This is a shop which have a lot of cool products.

もう一度あの場所へ

こんにちは、C & MILLSです。ブログの更新が滞ってしまいました。
いきなりですが、お知らせが！

明日から一ヶ月間、イギリスに行って参ります！

Hello. I'm sorry to delay in writing blog.
By the way, I'd like to notice you something!

I'm off to the UK for a month!!

もう寒いそうです、イギリスは。よく言えば避暑地。微かでいいから、夏を感じたかった。。
真夏の日本を飛び出して、大好きなあの地へ再び行けるのはまるで夢のよう。(←出発前日の今も実感が湧いていない)
そして何よりも、イギリス生活を送っていた時にお世話になった方々に再会できるということが何よりも楽しみです。

イギリスでは、C & MILLSとして買い付けを行なうと共に、新たなチャレンジができれば！、、と思っています。引き続きこのブログと、Facebookで近況を発信していきます。

大好きなコーヒーを飲んで、

美味しいご飯を食べて、（←イギリス料理も美味しいんですよ！実は！笑）

通学路だった道を再び歩いてみたり、

時には芸術鑑賞もしたりとか。

イギリスでどんな新しい出会いがあって、何を新たに見付けるのかはまだ分かりません。

でもただ一つ言えるのは、２年前、この地に降り立った自分とは待ったく違うということ。ドキドキ、ワクワク。
１ヶ月間、あっという間に過ぎていくんだと思います。

ということで、誠に勝手ながら、１ヶ月間、行ってきます！

私がお店にいない間、代わりの者が土日だけ C & MILLSを開けてくれるので、
どうぞ、お店の方にも足を運んで下さいませ。
そして、１ヶ月後、新しい C & MILLS を魅せられるように頑張ります！

徳光次郎さんがいらっしゃいました！／営業時間のお知らせ

こんばんは、C & MILLSです。

本日は営業時間のお知らせと、先日いらした徳光次郎さんとの対話の様子を。。

Hello. Today, I'd like to give notice of opening hour 

and show pictures which were taken when Mr. Jiro Tokumitsu came.

徳光次郎さんは、1988年にロンドンに伊勢丹を設立し、その後も数々の部門から百貨店を

手掛けられてきました。そして現在は " モノコト コネクション株式会社 "の代表取締役でいらっしゃいます。

また、なんと徳光さんは、あのフリアナウンサーであり、タレントの徳光和夫氏の弟さんでもいらっしゃいます。

そんな徳光さんにC & MILLSの店内を見て頂き、様々なアドバイスも頂きました。

Mr. Jiro Tokumitsu established ISETAN at London in 1988. After that he handled marketing,

dispray, ladies ware, mens ware and so on.

 And now he is a director of MONOKOTO CONNECTION CO.,Ltd.

I was glad to see him and get his advice.

徳光さんも長年イギリスにいらしたということで、

イギリスに関してのお話もさせて頂きました。

He used to live in the UK, so we have a talk about London was fun.

本日は、営業時間のお知らせと
以前「OSUSOWAKE~bonbonnier~」というブログでやっていた
"いいモノ紹介"をしようと思います。



BREAKFAST....

イギリスのロンドンにある"Monmouth Coffee"のコーヒー豆と
アメリカのコーヒーメーカー、CHEMEXケメックスで
コーヒーを淹れます。

I'm really mad for Monmouth Coffee in London.
By using this coffee beans, I dripped coffee with CHEMEX that made in US.

ケメックスは実験室にあったフラスコをコーヒーメーカーの代用として使っていたことにヒントを得て、制作されたもの。1941年の誕生以来、半世紀を超えるロングセラーとして、今なお世界中のコーヒー通から愛され続けています。

このケメックスと専用のフィルター、そしてロンドン一美味しいコーヒーを提供する
Monmouth coffeeを掛け合わせたら、美味しくないはずがない！！

CHEMEX is created instead of flasks which are in Lab. 
From 1941, CHEMEX are loved by coffee lovers are from all of the world.

以前オランダのアムステルダムで偶然見付けたカフェ、

"Screaming Beans" でケメックスでのコーヒーの淹れ方を教わったので

そのうす〜くなりつつある記憶を呼び起こしながら、淹れてみました。

Once, when I went to Amsterdam, I found a cafe "Screaming Beans" coincidence.

A staff taught me the way of drip coffee by using CHEMEX.

So I remembered that lecture from my mind.

時間をかけて、ドリップ。

Cup is form Richard Ginori.

あんバターのバゲットと。

with Sweet beans and butter baguette.

部屋中にコーヒーのいい香りがひろがって、気分もいいです。。

枡 MASU

枡、でございマス！

新商品入荷致しました。

This is MASU!!

New items arrived!

MASU is for drinking SAKE. It's traditional Japanese product.

松尾芭蕉の「奥の細道むすびの地」として有名な岐阜県大垣市の

枡工房枡屋さんの"すいちょこ"と"カラー枡"をご紹介。

These'r made by Masu-Kobou-Masuya in Gifu.

まずは、"すいちょこ"から。

Firstly, I recommend this "SUI-CHOKO"(This is also MASU).

枡は元々、お米を始めとする穀物を計る道具として1300年以上

その形を変えずに今に至っています。

このすいちょこは、元来の方形木製（四角）の形から姿を変えて正三角形となっています。

MASU are used for measure rice and grain for over 1,300 years 

and it kept being square of shape.

However this SUI-CHOKO's shape are changed to equilateral triangle.

とても軽く、お酒を飲む時には、他では味わえないような口当たりを体感できます。

It's very light and you'll be able to find new experience of drinking SAKE. 

続いて、"Color Masu カラー枡"

ご覧になって分かるように、形は方形木製ですが、色、柄は様々！

This is " Color MASU".

As you can see, square MASU have various color and patterns.

柄は全部で５種類。

Patterns.

●GIMAPOP(ギマポップ)

こちらは２色の色で彩られた枡。写真は青×赤です。

他にも

赤×オレンジ (Red × Orange)

青×紫 (Blue × Purple)

緑×黄 (Green × Yellow)

黄×オレンジ (Yellow × Orange)

緑×青 (Green × Blue)

赤×ピンク (Red × Pink)　をご用意してます。

●切子 KIRIKO

こちらは切子の柄です。こちらは、ブラウン、黒、白、青、黄、オレンジをご用意してます。

Color: Blown, Black, White, Blue, Yellow, Orange.

●８マス 8Masu

こちらは黄色。他のカラーは緑、黒、赤、ピンク、紫があります。

Color: Yellow, Green, Black, Red, Pink, Purple.

●市枡 ICHI-MASU

市枡の柄は、二面に色が付けられています。
カラーはピンク、青、黄色もあります。
Color: White, Pink, Blue, Yellow.

●LIP

こちらは、なんと、リップの模様、、！！
シンプルですが、なんとも可愛らしいデザインで私もお気に入り。
This is unique isn't it??
It's quite simple, but it's my favorite.
Color: Red, Black, Yellow,Green. 

桝工房桝屋さんは、今月開催されているパリのジャパンエキスポにも出展されたそうで、
枡は今や世界に誇る、日本の伝統工芸品。
さらに、Paul SmithのNY店にて、こちらの枡が販売された際は
あまりの人気にニューヨークタイムズ誌に掲載されるほど！！

お酒を飲むのにも、ちょっとした小物入れとしても、部屋に飾っておくのも
全てよし！
国産の檜の心地よい香りと、手にした時の質感を是非お楽しみ下さい。

Masu-Kobou-Masuya parted in Japan Expo in Paris.
Japanese are very proud of Japanese traditional products.
In addition, Paul Smith sells them in NY store.
When it appeared, it attracted New Yokers and The New York Times wrote about it because of that popularity!

You can drink SAKE by using it OR use it as box of accessories.
You'll enjoy scent of Japanese cypress and a smooth touch.

タッセルネックレスと今週の営業時間のお知らせ

今回はタッセルと天然石のロングネックレスをご紹介。

Today, I'd like to show you this necklace with tassel and gem stone. 

タッセルの色は左からパープル、ネイビー、グレー、ワインレッド、オレンジです。

Color:(Purple, Navy blue, Gray, Wine Red, Orange)

チェーンは違うパーツをそれぞれ組み合わせて繋げてます。

Each necklaces are joined different kinds of chains.

オレンジタッセルにはイエローのカルセドニー（天然石）を。

Orange tassel + Yellow Chalcedony.

ネイビーのタッセルには水晶を。

Navy Blue tassel + Crystal.

薄いパープルのタッセルにはローズクォーツを。

Light Purple tassel + Rose Quartz. 

グレーのタッセルには水色のカルセドニーとメダイユを。

Gray tassel + Light Blue Chalcedony + Medal

首から下げると、胸のあたりにタッセルがくるくらいの長さです。
