イギリスでの買い付けも終わり、ついに再OPEN致します！

Hello! I finished buying new stuff in the UK, and I re-open "C & MILLS"!

今までの C & MILLS とは違う、NEW "C & MILLS" を展開していきたいと思っております。

今回、イギリスでの一ヶ月の滞在期間、商品を仕入れるために奔走しておりました。

（大好きなカフェ巡りも一日も欠かしませんでしたが！）

この度、新しくC & MILLSの商品に仲間入りするのはイギリスのアンティークの品々と

LondonのAngelというエリアにある "Present & Correct"のステーショナリーです。

C & MILLSを始めるにあたって、かねてからずっとステーショナリーを置きたいと思っておりました。

その夢をこのPresent & CorrectのNealさんが叶えて下さいました。ありがとうございます！

I'd like to show you new C & MILLS which is different from before.

When I was in the UK, I run around London for buying. (But I did never miss going to cafes!)

This time, British antique and Stationaries arrived!

Stationaries are from "Present & Correct" which is in Angel, LONDON.

When I started C & MILLS, I was really eager to have stationaries.

So I'd like to say "Thank you so much" to Neal for making my dream come true!

その他は蚤の市で仕入れたアンティーク商品です。

こちらのレザーの筆箱なのですが、

以前パリを一人旅した際、パリにあるConran Shop（本店はLondon)を偶然発見し、

店内を見ていたとき、一目惚れして購入した筆箱がこちらの商品でした。

裏面に「Do your Homework (宿題をしなさい)」と書いてあるんです！可愛いでしょ！？

そして今回、商品の仕入れをお願いすべくPresent & Correctを訪れたときに、私の持っている筆箱と全く同じものが売られていたのです！なんとNealさんが作ったものでした！

あの驚きと感動は一生忘れない。。毎日学校でも使っているこの筆箱を、作られた方から直接仕入れることができるとは夢にも思っていませんでした。

I have one story of this Leather Pencil Case. 

Last year I went to Paris on my own, and I found Conran shop by chance.

In that shop, I found one pencil case and I fell in love with it at first sight.

Then I visited to Present & Correct on this trip, surprisingly I found pencil cases what I have!

And he make them!! What a coincidence it is!! I was so impressed!

I'll never forget that delightful surprise. 

I've never imagined I could get them which I always use in University from the man who make them!!!!

ドイツで出会った雑貨屋さん "Utensil"

先日、弾丸の旅でドイツに行ってきました。
当初の予定では友人に会いにデュッセルドルフにだけ行くつもりでしたが、
２日目に急遽隣町のケルンにも行ってきました。


Hello and  Guten Tag.
I went to Germany for just 2days to see my friend in Düsseldorf.
But next day, I changed my plan, and decided to go to  Köln.

中央駅を出てすぐにあるケルン大聖堂は圧巻！

大きすぎて枠に入らない。（もう少し後ろに下がって撮ればいいだけ）

それから大聖堂の荘厳さの余韻にひたることもせず、地下鉄に乗ってお目当ての雑貨屋さんへ直行！

The view of Kölner Dom was so beautiful.

Then I went straight to a shop which I really wanted to go without basking in the afterglow of that.

    Utensil 

Utensilに行くためだけにケルンを訪れたといっても過言ではない。
しかしこの日は生憎の雨で、しかもWi-Fiも使えず、場所がわからない！
通りがかった人達に道を教えてもらいながらやっとたどり着きました。

It's no exaggeration to say that I just visited to Köln for this "utensil" .
However it was rainy and I couldn't catch Wi-Fi, so I couldn't find this shop easily.
On the way to there, I asked many people to get there.
And finally I arrived. 

お店のフロントに置かれている、地下鉄や電車のホームでよく見られるベンチ。
店内に入る前から心をわしづかみにされてます。

Before you enter the shop, you'll be fascinated by this bench.

"Utensil"＝用具、家庭用品  という意味。
このお店のコンセプトは作業場や肉屋さん、大工さんなどが使っている"utensil"を
その本来の使用用途から離れて新しい視点から使ってほしい、というもの。
理科の実験に使うフラスコだったり、のり、ライトやバッグなど揃えられてる商品は様々。なかには日本の足袋もありました。

These products from factories, butchers, carpenters and so on. So you can use them on your own way and what you want.
They have wide range of product and I found Japanese socks, TABI.

見ているだけでも面白い！これは何に使うのかな？っていうのもありますが、
店員さんに聞いたら丁寧に教えてくれます。
しかも商品の値段もそんなに高くないんです。

It's not so expensive.

"ブログにここのこと書いていい？"と聞くと
"写真も撮っていいよ！"と快く了承して下さいました。
そしてちゃっかりC & MILLSの宣伝もして、いつか商品をトレードできればいいねとお話してお店を出ました。（私は本気ですよ、Utensilさん！)
Utensilは期間限定で、商品の写真展をお店とは別の場所で行なっていたのですが、
残念ながら時間がなく、行けませんでした。
またいつかお邪魔します。

I really love this atmosphere and was fascinated by it.
When I asked her if I can write blog about this shop. Then she was willing to it.
Thank you very much. Danke schÖn.
We talked about this shop and my shop, C & MILLS. 
Then she talked to me that someday we can trade products each other.
(I seriously want to do it!! haha)
I'll visit there again...
It was so much fun!

このKörnerstraßeの通りは、沢山の雑貨屋さん、カフェ、デザイン事務所などが
立ち並び、この通りが一丸となってイベント開催もしているようです。
この数百メートルの通りをブラブラするだけでも十分楽しめます。
そこで偶然見付けた、カフェ"VAN DYCK"は今度、もう一つのカフェを紹介するブログ、
"She must be in a cafe~イギリス カフェ探訪 ~ "で紹介する予定です。

通りにはこんな可愛らしい本棚(?)も置いてあり、自由に本を取っていいようです。
たぶん。

わずか数時間滞在のケルン。ものすごく楽しめました。

偶然に何かを見付ける楽しみがあるから、こういう弾丸旅行は止められない！

色々勉強にもなりました。C & MILLSの今後に活かしていけたら、と思います。

次回は、ロンドンまたはオックスフォードの何かを紹介します。（適当ですみません）

It was very short stay, but I really enjoy it.

I can't help going short trip because I can find lots of fantastic new things by chance like "utensil".

In Germany, I could learn lot of things , and it hopefully will be for C & MILLS.

夏が終わってました、イギリス！Freezing UK.

こんにちは、C & MILLSです。
久しぶりのブログの更新。

現在イギリスのオックスフォードに滞在中です。
夏と秋をすっ飛ばして冬に足を突っ込みかけてるイギリスでの生活は、寒さが憎いですが、新しい発見と刺激に溢れた毎日です。（なので、ブログの更新が滞っているのは、決して怠けてるからではない！と思う。。）

今回は、以前イギリスに留学していた時に生活していたオックスフォードで再び足を運んだ懐かしの場所をご紹介。

Hello. It's been a long time..

Now, I'm in Oxford.
I expected it's a bit colder than Japan, but it's freezing actually...
Though it's cold and it makes me blue, everyday I get new things and inspiration. (So I'm not lazy to write blog. I'm "quite" busy to do lots of things!) 

Anyway, I'd like to show you some spots where I used to stay and often visited.


"Turl Street Kitchen"

Free Wi-Fiがあり、好きなだけ滞在していいカフェ。
ここで勉強や仕事をする人も沢山います。その風景と居心地の良さは以前と全く変わらず。

They have Free Wi-Fi and you can stay there as long as you want.
You'll see people who study and work at there. 
That scene and comfortableness are not changed.

お酒も飲めます。
You can drink anytime.

朝食も食べられます。
グラノーラが可愛いジャーに入れられて。。
そしてここのアメリカンは結構濃いめ。目が覚めます。

You can have breakfast.
I like this jar of granola with yoghurt.
I like American coffee as well, but the taste is quite strong. It helps you awake.

もちろん、デザートも。大好きな、スティッキー・トフィー・プディング。
Of course, they serve sweets. I'm mad about this sticky toffy pudding.

学生の街、Oxford。
古いカレッジが所狭しと立ち並ぶ。

The town, Oxford is for students.
You see streets full of flourishing old collages. 


続いて、イングランドで一番最初にできたコーヒーショップの
"The Grand Cafe".

このカフェが設立したのは1690年。日本は江戸時代で徳川光圀が治めていたなか、イングランドではこんなオシャレなカフェができていた。。

This is the first coffee shop in England, "The Grand Cafe".
It established in 1690. At this time, Japan was in the EDO period and 
Mitsukuni Tokugawa who was a shogun in Edo ruled over the country,
on the other hand, such a cool coffee shop was established in Oxford.

昼間はカフェとして。本物のアフタヌーンティーが味わえます。
夜になるとオシャレなバーに変身。もちろん、昼間でもお酒は飲めます。

You can have a real sophisticated afternoon tea at there.
In the evening, you can enjoy here as a bar.

大好きな、Cream Tea! スコーンにクロテッドクリームとイチゴジャムをたっぷり付けて。
紅茶はLady Grayを。

You should have a cream tea and lady gray!

最後に、オックスフォードでイケメンな雑貨を取り揃える、
"Object of Use".

iittalaや琺瑯の食器、文房具、ガーデニングに使う道具（←イギリス人には欠かせない！）などの他、日本のたわしや工具なども取り揃えられています。

This is a shop which have a lot of cool products.

もう一度あの場所へ

こんにちは、C & MILLSです。ブログの更新が滞ってしまいました。
いきなりですが、お知らせが！

明日から一ヶ月間、イギリスに行って参ります！

Hello. I'm sorry to delay in writing blog.
By the way, I'd like to notice you something!

I'm off to the UK for a month!!

もう寒いそうです、イギリスは。よく言えば避暑地。微かでいいから、夏を感じたかった。。
真夏の日本を飛び出して、大好きなあの地へ再び行けるのはまるで夢のよう。(←出発前日の今も実感が湧いていない)
そして何よりも、イギリス生活を送っていた時にお世話になった方々に再会できるということが何よりも楽しみです。

イギリスでは、C & MILLSとして買い付けを行なうと共に、新たなチャレンジができれば！、、と思っています。引き続きこのブログと、Facebookで近況を発信していきます。

大好きなコーヒーを飲んで、

美味しいご飯を食べて、（←イギリス料理も美味しいんですよ！実は！笑）

通学路だった道を再び歩いてみたり、

時には芸術鑑賞もしたりとか。

イギリスでどんな新しい出会いがあって、何を新たに見付けるのかはまだ分かりません。

でもただ一つ言えるのは、２年前、この地に降り立った自分とは待ったく違うということ。ドキドキ、ワクワク。
１ヶ月間、あっという間に過ぎていくんだと思います。

ということで、誠に勝手ながら、１ヶ月間、行ってきます！

私がお店にいない間、代わりの者が土日だけ C & MILLSを開けてくれるので、
どうぞ、お店の方にも足を運んで下さいませ。
そして、１ヶ月後、新しい C & MILLS を魅せられるように頑張ります！

こんばんは、C & MILLSです。

本日は営業時間のお知らせと、先日いらした徳光次郎さんとの対話の様子を。。

Hello. Today, I'd like to give notice of opening hour 

and show pictures which were taken when Mr. Jiro Tokumitsu came.

徳光次郎さんは、1988年にロンドンに伊勢丹を設立し、その後も数々の部門から百貨店を

手掛けられてきました。そして現在は " モノコト コネクション株式会社 "の代表取締役でいらっしゃいます。

また、なんと徳光さんは、あのフリアナウンサーであり、タレントの徳光和夫氏の弟さんでもいらっしゃいます。

そんな徳光さんにC & MILLSの店内を見て頂き、様々なアドバイスも頂きました。

Mr. Jiro Tokumitsu established ISETAN at London in 1988. After that he handled marketing,

dispray, ladies ware, mens ware and so on.

 And now he is a director of MONOKOTO CONNECTION CO.,Ltd.

I was glad to see him and get his advice.

徳光さんも長年イギリスにいらしたということで、

イギリスに関してのお話もさせて頂きました。

He used to live in the UK, so we have a talk about London was fun.
